WARM CLOTHES TO BRING

On tour you will need a mixture of lightweight clothing for the day and warm wear (eg fleece, long trousers, hat) for early mornings and evenings or on game drives when it can be cool (especially in southern hemisphere winter months Jun-Aug). We highly suggest that women bring a sports bra for this tour as we travel off road on 4 x 4 tracks. Pack a light rain jacket, mosquito spray, sleeping bag, towel and a pillow (if you want one). A money belt/pouch that can be worn comfortably beneath your clothing is recommended for the tour. Please avoid bringing unnecessary valuables and use your pre/post tour hotel safe to store your cash, passport and air tickets.

Pre-tour and post-tour accommodation and return airport transfers can be pre-booked for Windhoek and Victoria Falls.

Please try to keep your luggage to a minimum. Don’t forget most airlines impose a 20kg-45Lb luggage limit. A large soft holdall or backpack and a smaller daypack is ideal.

Day1/2

Day 1-2....Namib Desert

An early morning departure from Johannesburg, as we begin our safari to Victoria Falls. We Hike the dramatic Namib Desert, with its vivid pink-to-orange dunes. Spot desert wildlife, like oryx, springbok and ostrich. Marvel at petrified dunes. Our local San Bushman guide sheds light on the desert’s flora and fauna. Join an astronomer for an extraordinary night of stargazing.
Day 3

Kalahari

Climb the bright red-orange Sossusvlei Dunes—among the highest in the world—for sweeping desert views.  Gain insight into traditional and contemporary culture on a guided twilight walk. Sip refreshing sundowners and enjoy dinner alfresco.
Day4/6

Day 4-6.....Etosha National Park

Discover remote Damaraland, a rugged region of arid plains, granite outcrops and deep gorges. Tonight, relish a magical bush dinner under the stars. In Etosha National Park, a scenic game drive offers the chance to see lion, leopard, elephant and rhinoceros.
Day 7

Victoria Falls

Behold Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls, a breathtaking explosion of thunder and spray. Watch the mighty Zambezi River surge down a zigzagging chasm on a guided hike. Savor an unforgettable dinner on the Zambezi riverbank.
Day8/9

Day 8-9...Matetsi Private Game Reserve

Cruise a sprawling stretch of the Zambezi, watching for hippos, crocodiles and birdlife. Get to know the Zimbabwean bush on a walking safari through Matetsi Private Game Reserve. Relax under mangosteen trees at our magnificent river abode.
